What is Portfolio Management Services (PMS)?
Portfolio Management Service is a tailor made professional service offered to cater the investments objective of different investor classes. It best suits those investors who:
- Desire customized and Research oriented investment solutions
- Desire consistent investment returns
- Lack sufficient time to adequately monitor and manage a portfolio
- Lack sufficient interest and knowledge in the financial marketplace to obtain the desired result
What is the difference between a discretionary and a non-discretionary Portfolio Management Services?
The discretionary portfolio manager will independently manage the funds of each client in accordance with the needs of the client. The non-discretionary portfolio manager will provide advisory services enabling the client to take decision with regards to his portfolio.
Who can offer PMS?
PMS can be offered only by entities having specific SEBI registration for rendering portfolio management services. Hedge Equities is a SEBI registered Portfolio Manager.
How can a customer introduce his/her initial corpus?
Initial corpus can be brought into the Portfolio Management Service by way of either Cash and/or securities. The initial portfolio of securities will be re-aligned as per the model.
What are the benefits of PMS?
PMS can offer the following characteristics: individualized portfolios on the basis of the risk profile, professional management, flexibility, transparency, diversification and asset allocation, among others.
What is the Fees Structure for PMS?
We do not charge any management fees for our PMS clients. An Hedge PMS customer will incur fees only as below:
Performance based fees: The Portfolio Manager will charge 20% on the profits earned over and above a hurdle rate (current hurdle rate set at 10%) based on a High Water Mark Principle. That is, a PMS client pays the fee only if there are positive returns in excess of the hurdle rate on his portfolio. Please refer to the scheme document or contact the Portfolio Manager for exact details.
Administration fees : Administration fees of 1% will be charged for the three portfolios
Brokerage Fees: Brokerage fees as applicable will be charged for orders executed on behalf of the client in the PMS schemes.
Securities transaction taxes, levies, etc as applicable will also get charged to the client for trades executed.
How does the investor stay updated on his portfolio’s performance?
Regular communication from the portfolio management team is an essential tool in keeping the investor and the Financial Advisor informed. Among the tools that are usually provided: periodic performance reporting, monthly investment commentary, and online portfolio information.
What are the minimum investment requirements for PMS accounts?
The minimum investment size for Hedge Portfolio Management Service is Rs Five Lakhs.
Does the Portfolio Management Service have any lock-in period?
There is no lock-in period. The customer can exit/redeem at any point of time. If the customer exits before one year, a 2% exit load will be charged.
Can a customer withdraw the profit at any time?
Yes, the customer can withdraw profit as & when required, provided he/she maintains the minimum investment amount of Rs. Five Lakhs after the withdrawal.
What if the customer terminates from the PMS before one year?
The client can terminate the PMS at any point of time within the first year, but a 2% exit load will be charged.
Do you guarantee the initial corpus and any ‘return’ thereon?
Returns cannot be guaranteed as per regulations governing Portfolio Management Services in India. All investments are subject to market risks and there can be no assurance that the objectives of the investment portfolio(s) will be achieved. Services are not being offered by guaranteed/assured returns. Investors are advised to read the risk factors in the disclosure documents before making investments. However our objective is to provide real return (after inflation & tax) for the investor, depending upon the risk – return profile & portfolio chosen.
